Thank You to All Racers & Volunteers Who Made this 1st Two-Way NORC a Success!

On behalf of the entire SSCC organization, we thank each and every one of you who helped make this first running of a two-way NORC a successful event!

To all of you who came out to race in this event, we truly appreciate you supporting us in this new endeavor. Change isn't always easy. Yet, after 30 years of hosting our classic one-way race format, we figured you would appreciate a new challenge added to the mix for the May event. Based on all the smiles we saw on Sunday, it appears you did!

Of course, for all of you who still love our Classic 90 mile, one-way race, come back and run with us again in September in the #SSCC event, where we'll be racing from Lund to Hiko down Nevada Highway 318 as we have for 31 years!

A very special thank you to all of our racers and their families who support us. We truly couldn't do this without all of you! Thanks for racing with us!

As always, a HUGE thank you to the members of the Las Vegas Corvette Association, who's team of volunteers do so much to support nearly every facet of the weekend. All of your efforts and hard work are appreciated!

In particular, we'd like to recognize LVCA's SSCC Team Leader Barbara Belak, without whom many of our Vegas Vettes folks wouldn't be able to both perform volunteer duties, and actually get to race in the event. Thank you Barbara for all that you do from all of us at SSCC!

Special thanks goes out to all of our course workers, without whom, there would be no race. We sincerely hope you come back again and again to continue helping all of us make this the best racing event on the West Coast!

We'd like to thank all of the Sheriff's deputies and NHP officers who close and secure Highway's 490 and 318 for us, and to the NDOT officials who allow us to close these roads twice a year, so that we can put on these events.

We'd also like to thank all of the Fire, EMT, flight crews, safety services, and HAM operators for providing us with a well-observed and safe environment over such a long stretch of highway. Your presence makes 318 a great place to race!

I'd personally like to give a special shout out to the entire SSCC Board for having the bravery to accept a racer's proposal to actually let us race in both directions on 318. Thank you for being brave enough to buy in and go for it!

Last, but certainly not least, if you had a great time this past weekend, please let us know! If there were things you'd like to see us improve upon for next May, please email those comments, ideas, and anything else you'd like to share to our Marketing, Communications, and PR person, Berry Lowman, at Berry_Lowman@yahoo.com and put 2018 NORC in the subject line. Your feedback, both the good, the bad, and the ugly, will help us make this great event even better for 2019.

Thank you again to everyone involved in the 2018 #NORC Two-Way Race! We hope to see all of you again in September at the 31st Annual Silver State Classic Challenge #SSCC event!

Sincerely,

Your SSCC Board of Directors

Berry,  consider the possibility of finding another location for the Shootout; one long enough to bring back a 1.5 mile run like the Mojave Magnum. That's a tough bill to fill but would surely draw more participation.

Found one for the SSCC, now to see if they are interested and can get the road
