Is there any truth to the scuttlebutt that there is going be a Co-Driver option for next September's race? The requirement would be to exchange driver and navigator positions without going under the tech minimum speed.

I've heard nothing official but I would love to have a second leg for the SSCC race.
This is the only OR Race that one can get to real speeds. My fingers are crossed.
Jessica, the NORC has two legs of about 60 miles each, where co-crivers are possible. Also, what do you consider "real speeds?" The BBORR has sections where you can easily reach 200 mph.
David, you mean a "fast & furious" style driver swap? Sounds fun if you have cruise control
Mike Borders, each of the three States that host OR races have their features that make them challenging. When referring to real speed I'm talking about 145 -155 for a sustained period of time. While that may not be considered real speed to some, it is to me. See you at BBORR. I look forward to driving those corners there butnot at speeds.😄
Well, the Sandhills/Loup to Loup event is what I would call a "Driver's" course, being very technical, the SSCC/NORC events being what I call a "Car" course, being all about the car and its ability to survive under extreme duress and sustain very high speeds with literally no turns that require braking except the Narrows, and the BBORR events (2 now), that are exactly in between, a nice combination of driver skill and car performance. If you haven't driven the BBORR, there are plenty of long straights in the north half that can easily support your desired goals, along with some absolutely kick-ass fun sweepers through the hills and cuts to make you forget all about straightaway speed!
Based on your experience and the car you are driving, those BBORR straights are plenty long enough to support speed classes up to about 140 mph (165 mph Tech) while surrendering some speed in the corners to suit your comfort level.
Mike totally argree with you. This wad not an argument.
I didn't see it as such. I was just offering input about the BBORR and NORC that I wasn't sure you knew (I don't know your level of experience), and some tips from my 25+ years of ORR racing and promotion. Be safe!
