It is with great sadness that Lance Gale passed away last night. Lance has been providing fuel and tire assistance since our first event. Our prayers go out to his family and employees. He will be greatly missed by all.

Remember when the 2008 NORC event was red-flagged due to Jerry Mall's accident and most contestants were stuck at the broiling hot start line for hours? Lance Gale went and bought all the bottled water that they had at Lane's and handed bottles out at the start. In every subsequent event, I bought gas from him even though I didn't really need the high octane stuff at the speeds I was running, and I always told him he wasn't charging enough - he said he was just charging his cost and didn't really want to make a profit off the racers. I'm stunned to hear the news of his death.
The board received a request to post the mailing address for the family of Lance Gale.

I'm truly saddened to hear this. He was a great guy and a true supporter of Open Road Racing in Nevada. He went above and beyond to help me on several occasions. I'm going to miss him.

Rest in Peace Lance. He was one upstanding individua who was always there to provide a great service to the racers. Mike Borders said that lance always supported MKM's events back when they had ORR events in Nevada also. He will be missed by all.
Godspeed! Our condolences to family and friends. we are saddened by this news he always did everything he could to help us.
Lance was with us for every ORR event that MKM ran, even if it meant driving his fuel truck several hundred miles to be ready for our racers at the turnarounds. He was a dear friend, a wonderful soul, and a giving, kindhearted man who was taken too soon. We will miss him dearly.
