(a)I would make sure that you have the cooling figured out for the Trans. The 200R4 does not live long in these conditions. Get the best trans cooler you can and make sure that your TC locks up in OD. If you have a four row radiator you should be fine for the motor. (b)The rear suspension is not the problem with these cars. You are not on a course that will exploit the rear power oversteer. Save your cash for other areas. The only thing I would do is get 135# springs in the rear and some...

to mr. gary patterson: how about this idea to add even more excitement; start dave and i side by side. i know, iknow.....it's never been done, but if we did do it that way we would know, right away at the finish line, what really panned out. in the event of a tie, we would proceed to a sudden death, WWF style, wrestling match right there at the finish line. plus, i know dave has a fantasy to swap paint with somebody [like his winston cup idols on t.v.]. let's consider letting dave live out...

Mr. Carpenter and Mr. Golder.... I like the idea of the wwf wrestling match but we'll have to wait until after the banquet......The side by side start is really interesting to me and would certainly be a crowd pleaser and it would be great to follow your progress down course. Then I remember - we want people to live and finish and not delay things by needlessly using up our medical supplies - in order to win you have to finish (both of you) and besides sometimes a little suspense at the end...

I'm with Tom, running the unlimiteds first is probably safer for them, and not a hardship for the lower (in my case 110)speeds. At most, it would delay my start from around 10am to 11:30 am, I can live with that. Look on the bright side, we can all stand near the start line and watch them start. As but a humble slo-poke (100ish) driving the Family Truckster, it seem most reasonable to run the fastest first, and, start an hour earlier. I think that some folks don't recognize what a big deal it is to safely and effectively orchestrate an event such as this in these highly bureaucratic/CYA times we live in. Therefore, prudent thinking with respect to risk analysis should be pursued and evaluated. Heaven help SSCC/NORC if there would be a fatality just 'cause some schmoe didn't want to...

Jane, Ellen and I live on your planned route, here's our advice: as you tarvel north on I 15, stop in Las Vegas where we well treat you to drinks and dinner, THEN -- forget about Moab and Steamboat Springs untill mid-August -- turn right on US 93 for a warm tour to Phoenix and Tuscon. Before making a decision, you can spend the night in our freezer to see how you'll like the temperature where your current plans will take you. Carl & Ellen

Skiing was excellent yesterday. You have about a 50/50 chance of snow in Zion- we haven't had any substantial storms in over a week. The LaSalle mountains outside of Moab have snow year-round, tho. Nice pics. Then come up and across 1-70 past Glenwood Springs (killer canyon- more photos for sure) to Highway 131 which...

That motor was HOWLING! I few of my road racer buddies have seen it and thier jaws about hit the floor when they saw your tach. Thanks guys. No, it is not true that I want to go right into the Unlimited Class next time. The problem is the rules. If I have to abide by all the rules, then some require a full roll cage. If I have to have a full roll cage built into the car, then maybe I should have it built for acceptance into the Unlimited class as far as safety and equipment. Safety always has and will be my number one priority. I don't deny that I want to move to the higher classes. I will make that decision after I...
